Roles Of Xenomelts, Xenoliths, Xenocrysts, Xenovolatiles, Residues, And Skarns In The Genesis, Transport, And Localization Of Magmatic Fe-Ni-Cu-Pge Sulfides And Chromite (Vol 90, Pg 465, 2017)
Ore Geology Reviews(2020)
Abstract
•Xenoliths, xenocrysts, xenomelts, and xenovolatiles play active roles in ore genesis.•Xenoliths influence the bulk density and viscosity of the magma and therefore sulfide transport.•Some chromite represents upgraded Fe±Ti oxide xenocrysts.•Embayments/jogs/throats that localize Ni-Cu-PGE deposits are traps for collecting upward or downward-transported sulfides/oxides/xenoliths.
