This paper shows a disposable and inexpensive microcapsule array chip for on-site multi-target detection of ions in water. Eight pairs of indicator solutions, which are utilized to detect hydrogen ion (PH), lead ion, hexavalent chromium ion, fluorine ion, nitrite ion, nickel ion, copper ion and iron ion, are pre-sealed correspondently in the 4x4 microcapsule arrays with the use of ice-printing technique. Each detecting pair has a detection microcapsule and a contrast one. When the device is applied, sample is directly injected into certain detection microcapsule with a syringe. Afterwards, compared with the contrast group, the composition of sample and concentration of certain target ions can be qualitatively detected by naked eyes within seconds.
