Comparison of various coupling reagents in solid-phase aza-peptide synthesis

•Reaction rates and yields of aza-peptide formation depends on the activator structure.•Peptide bond forms 30 times faster than the aza-peptide bond.•Activators COMU and PyOxim lead to nearly complete aza-peptide bond formation.
