摘要
•The formation of a stable peptide film on TiO2 is demonstrated.•A peptide/TiO2 electrode produces an electronic current upon photoexcitation.•The peptide layer increases the ET efficiency by acting as an optimal ET mediator.•A peptide-based DSSC shows promising operative parameters.•The first example of a DSSC based on a peptide/TiO2 active surface is provided.
