Abstract
•A new initiator to activate metathesis reactions has been synthetized.•It has been designed for structural self-healing applications.•It rapidly polymerizes cyclic olefins in highly reactive environments.•It is active at high temperatures in presence of aromatic primary amines.•Self-healing efficiency of the formulated samples has been found to be 103%.
