Antibacterial potential of Urtica dioica and Lavandula angustifolia extracts against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolated from diabetic foot ulcers

•The aim of this study was to evaluate the chronic wound healing properties of polyphenols rich plant extracts.•Lavender and nettle had in their own composition bioactive compounds with high antibacterial potential.•These plant can be used as natural source of bioactive compounds against MRSA.•These plants can be used in pharmaceutical formulations for topic applications, diminishing the incidence of infections.
