摘要
•A distortion compensation methodology using 3D optical scanning measurement data has been developed and validated for laser powder bed fusion.•The technology readiness level (TRL) for distortion compensation has been matured to a level of 5–6, where the proposed methodology can be now utilised in industry.•The validated methodology has the potential to be successfully used in net-shape technologies beyond those assessed within this research.•The methodology can be used for the reduction of lead times and costs for product development of AM parts and their post-processing strategies.
