Abstract
Dwell Energy Density Distribution Index (DEDDI) has been developed to describe dosimetric characteristics of High-dose-rate (HDR) Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI) as an adjunct to dose conformality, homogeneity, and dose distribution. However, the clinical utility of the DEDDI has not been validated in cervical cancer. The energy density effects on clinical local control of the target lesion are not well understood. In this study, the DEDDI was applied to describe dosimetric characteristics of HDR brachytherapy for cervical cancer.
