Abstract
Sessile serrated adenomas (SSAs) are important precursors of colorectal cancer (CRC), with an incidence of ∼2% in the US [1]. Prior studies have cited advanced age and obesity (BMI>30 kg/m2) as risk factors for SSA development, while there is conflicting data regarding the effects of gender and race [2,3]. No study has looked at risk factors for SSAs in a predominantly African American (AA), female, obese inner-city population.
