Photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline by Ti-MCM-41 prepared at room temperature and biotoxicity of degradation products

•Mesoporous Ti-MCM-41 was synthesized at room temperature.•Tetracycline, oxytetracycline and chlortetracycline were selected as the targeted pollutant.•The hennery wastewater was simulated by veterinary reagent and natural water samples.•The biological toxicity of three tetracycline antibiotics and their intermediates were assessed by Escherichia coli.
