Multiple Myeloma (MM) and Pure Red Cell Aplasia (PRCA): Interesting Diagnostic and Therapeutic Challenge

Pure red cell aplasia (PRCA) is a rare entity that presents with severe anemia with marked reticulocytopenia and absence of erythroblast / erythroid precursors in the bone marrow. The acquired variant is the most common. The most frequent cause in adults is idiopathic, although it has been associated with infections (HCV, HIV, EBV, Parvovirus B19), autoimmune diseases, drugs and neoplasias (thymoma, PFS, carcinomas ...).
