Radiation pressure acceleration: perspectives and limits

A very concise note on the "light sail", radiation-pressure driven approach to ion acceleration by intense laser pulses is given. Remarks on the role of the laser polarization, on the "dominance" of the radiation pressure action and on the key role of target transparency are made.
