Internet used as strategy-as-practice tool for decisionmaking process by middle manager

The role of middle manager is essential in the strategic decision-making, requiring speed, accuracy and updated information to take better decisions. We consider that middle manager is acting as an agent of integration between the upper and lower levels, even being able to affect and change the direction of the company, considering their insertion into the organization from a practical perspective. This study aims to analyze the use of the Internet as a tool to assist the middle manager in decisionmaking process. To check it out we adopted a qualitative methodology through a simple case study in a textile industry in the south of Brazil. The main techniques of data collection used were semi-structured interviews, analysis of documents and direct observation. We found that the system accessed by Internet helps and promote speed to middle manager to improve the decision-making process.
