摘要
11100 Background: Hypoxia is important in the biology of human gliomas. PET offers a noninvasive method to differentiate individual tumor biology and modify treatment accordingly. The development of PET tracers provides further tools to evaluate the hypoxia of human tumors. The aim of this study was to determine whether hypoxia, as measured by fluorine-18 fluoroerythronitroimidazole (18F-FETNIM) PET/CT, was associated with malignant progression of gliomas. Methods: Fifteen patients with suspected primary glioma and who were referred for surgical treatment were enrolled prospectively in this study. All patients had 18F-FETNIM PET/CT studies before surgery. PET/CT imaging was performed at 120 min after 18F-FETNIM injection. For semi-quantitative analysis, the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) was obtained by drawing regions of interest (ROI) on the PET images for tumor tissues. Hypoxia, angiogenesis, aggression, and cellular proliferation related markers hypoxia-inducible factors-1alpha (HIF-1a), v...
