摘要
A chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH) is a collection of old blood products and blood breakdown products that have accumulated in the subdural space. cSDH is increasingly common due to the combination of more frequent use of anticoagulant and antiplatelet agents and the advanced age of the population. The incidence of cSDH is estimated to be between 3.4 and 58 per 100,000 person-years depending on the age of the population. The United Nations predicts that the percentage of the population above age 65 is expected to double between 2010 and 2050. cSDH is more prevalent in men, with a 3:1 male-to-female ratio.
