Abstract
•Acidified primary amine N1923 was employed to extract and separate V from alkaline aqueous solution.•The co-extraction of V and Cr can be avoided by adding trisodium citrate.•Separation of V and Al from Cr and can be achieved even aqueous pH is high up to 13.•A two-step stripping strategy has been used to separate V and Al in the organic phase.
