Ultra-High Nonlinear Photonic Crystal Fiber with Geo2 Doped Core

摘要
This paper articulates our recent investigation on the properties of highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber (HNPCF) with concentrated GeO2 doped core using Finite Element method (FEM). The proposed PCF shows extremely high nonlinearity with very small effective mode area and convenient dispersion characteristics in telecommunication window. Suitable nearly zero dispersion profile at operating wavelength for nonlinear applicationscan be achieved by tuning the global design parameters. Obtained values of nonlinear coefficient. with this design are similar to 347.58 W(-1)km(-1) and similar to 232.53 W(-1)km(-1) at 1.3 mu m and 1.55 mu m respectively with very low confinement loss suggesting this PCF as an attractive candidate for supercontinuum generation, ultrafast signal processing and fiber sensors etc.
