BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Persistent Post-Operative Pain (Failed Back Surgery Syndrome) affects a proportion of patients following spinal surgery. This study looks at the incidence in simple decompressive spinal surgery compared to more invasive and complex fusion surgery of the lumbar spine.
