Abstract
•The non-Fourier effect during laser-tissue interaction was numerically studied.•Temperature field was characterized by the 3-D dual-phase-lag (DPL) model.•The DPL parameter is related with physical time but not equal to relaxation time.•A nonlinear and delayed temperature increase appears during the pulse duration.•τq and τT will decrease the predicted temperature and the temperature gradient.
