Study of the influence of breaking performance on the operation stability of switchgear

Vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) is a common type of the circuit breaker used in switchgear. The breaking performance of VCB plays an important role on the operation stability of switchgear, which will directly affect the equipment safety and power supply reliability. In this paper, the influencing factors of the breaking performance of VCB were presented in detail. Based on practical cases during the power network operation, the influence of the breaking performance on the operation stability of switchgear was discussed and analyzed. Finally, measures for improving breaking performance of VCB were raised.
