Abstract
Since its inception in 1975, quality control has been at the forefront of the Coastal Data Information Program (CDIP). During the early days, with few pressure sensor stations deployed (Imperial Beach and Ocean Beach, CA), timely Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) checks were done manually. However, as the program grew, it became evident that in order to maintain high quality standards commensurate with real time data dissemination, it would be necessary to develop automated quality control checks designed to accept qualified data and reject sets that fail to meet minimum standards. Both categories were archived and are available, in the public domain, for further manual or machine processing and inspection.
