Abstract
Compared to the results determined in the laboratory, the real situation of potential-induced degradation (PID) in crystalline silicon photovoltaic power plant is somewhat different. In this paper, a real situation about PID out of doors is reported. By studying the change of Voc, we found that PID always emerges in modules adjacent to negative pole in string, and emerges in cells adjacent to aluminium frame. However, Voc of the middle substring in a module is changed slightly because of PID. Modules are imaged by thermography imaging to verify our findings for the first time.
