Abstract
•The variation of 116 cocoa clones for vigour and yield component traits was evaluated.•Considerable genetic variation was detected among the clones for vigour and yield.•Heritability was generally low for all the traits studied.•Clones that combine high yield efficiency with bean weight were identified.
