Listvenite-related gold deposits of the South Urals (Russia): A review

•Small listvenite-related lode gold deposits are located in the fault zones of the South Urals.•Economic Au grades are established in listvenites, beresites and quartz veins.•Gold is mostly of high fineness; the Ag-rich gold occurs with galena, sphalerite and tellurides.•The ores were formed from the moderate saline NaCl–CO2–H2O±CH4 fluids at 170–330°C and 0.4–1.5kbar.•The δ18OH2O values of the fluid in equilibrium with quartz indicate the magmatic fluid source.
