Abstract
•Thermo-sensitive leaf-color wandering jew mutant was studied under different temperature conditions.•Chemical and transcriptional analysis clarified the pigment biosynthesis regulation.•Temperature change affected the pigment composition in leaves on mutants.•The leaf color change was associated with the anthocyanin biosynthetic and regulatory genes up-regulated in mutant leaves.•The petunidin and pelargonidin levels effected the leaf color of mutants under different temperature conditions.
