摘要
Dementia is hard to treat and basic studies have shown that Edaravone may play a role in treatment of Alzheimer's disease by the way of alleviate oxidative stress etc. 60 patients with mild to moderate VD were enrolled and randomly divided into three groups: Edaravone group (20 cases treated with Edaravone Injection plus routine drugs), Gingko group (20 cases treated with gingko leaf injection plus the same routine drugs) and control group (20 cases treated with normal saline plus routine drugs). General information and MMSE score were recorded. Oxidative indexs including SOD, MDA and T-AOC were detected. After 2 weeks' treatment, MMSE scores before and after treatment for each group were (16.96±2.75) vs (18.94±2.96) points for Edaravone group, (17.08±2.86) vs (18.18±2.78) points for Gingko group and (17.32±1.98) points vs (18.06±2.16) points for control group. there was no difference between three groups either before or after treatment . But MMSE improved significantly in Edaravone group. The decrease of SOD and T-aoc levels improved after treatment of Edaravone while MDA level improved. Edaravone is helpful in treatment for VD patients by means of antioxidative stress. Sample of patients needs to be expanded and further study needs to be considered for better understanding of the antioxidative mechenism of Edaravone's effect in vascular dementia.
