A simple method for large-scale purification of nucleic acids from plants using calcium phosphate-type monetite

•Synthesis of a solid support of Calcium Phosphate used for nucleic acids purification.•The synthesis process was optimized based on the change in the binding capacity.•The process of binding and elution was optimized for high purification of nucleic acids.•The high binding capacity of the solid support could allow economic purifications up to g of nucleic acids.•The separation of nucleic acids can be performed from any environmental source.
