摘要
BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Within patients with pelvic trauma, the incidence of unstable sacral fractures has been reported as high as 30%. High rates of biomechanical failures and poor clinical outcomes are associated with the use of traditional fixation methods (posterior sacroiliac screw and anterior symphyseal plate fixation) for the treatment of complex sacral fractures with vertical and anterior pelvic ring instability. These poor outcomes prompt further investigation of alternative fixation strategies.
