A Low Drop-Out Regulator With Embedded Voltage Reference

A low drop-out regulator with embedded voltage reference is presented in this paper. The feedback network of the LDO, combined with the proportional to absolute temperature current reference, can generate an embedded voltage reference. In addition, an active zero is designed to stabilize the LDO. The proposed LDO is simulated in a SMIC 65nm CMOS process. The current consumption is 28uA. When the load current is switched between 0 and 50mA in 100ns with CL=100 pF, the recovery time is less than 1.5us whereas the overshot and undershot is 88mV and 57 mV respectively.
