Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Successfully Treated By Liposomal Amphotericin B A Case Report And Review Of The Literature

Leishmaniasis is a group of vector-borne diseases, caused by a group of protozoa belonging to the genus Leishmania. It is usually transmitted by sandfly vectors. There are 2 types of leishmaniasis: visceral and cutaneous. We report a case of cutaneous leishmaniasis in a young male caused by Leishmania panamensis. We also discuss the clinical features, diagnostic tools, differential diagnosis, and management options for cutaneous leishmaniasis.
