摘要
The finite element method for solving partial differential equations has been used to model a heat transport phenomenon in a polymer sample located in the column of a dilatometer. The sample was heated by a microwave field. Both cases with and without convection at the surface of the sample have been examined. It is shown that it is possible to design a geometry of the whole support-sample system and to define experimental conditions that allow a sufficiently uniform temperature (between 250-degrees and 300-degrees-C) to be obtained in steady state conditions.
