Dynamic changes in MR signals of intraplague hemorrhage are strongly correlated with plaque progression: A serial imaging study on carotid atherosclerosis
ATHEROSCLEROSIS(2016)
Abstract
Objectives: The presence of hyperintense signals on T1-weighted MRI indicates intraplaque hemorrhage (IPH), which has been associated with clinical events and plaque progression in previous studies. The magnitude of IPH signals, however, is often neglected because of unclear clinical significance. This study investigated whether the magnitude of IPH signals provides additional information about the biology of IPH.
