Simulating N2O emissions under different tillage systems of irrigated corn using RZ-SHAW model

•RZ-SHAW was used to compare N2O emission in two different tillage systems.•RZ-SHAW was also used to compare N2O emission in high and low fertilizer systems.•RZ-SHAW correctly simulated lower soil temperature in no-till (NT) corn system.•Simulated N2O emissions closely matched observed emissions for all four treatments.•The mechanistic soil temperature routine of RZ-SHAW helped simulated tillage effect.
