摘要

•Commercial assays for HLA-B*57:01 detection were validated in the HIV laboratory.•The Duplicα Real-Time HLA-B*57:01 kit was 100% sensitive and specific.•This assay can readily be implemented into routine clinical practice.•The LightSNiP rs2395029 HPC5 assay had false-positive results and is not recommended.•Additonal validations of commercial assays can facilitate use of abacavir treatment.
