Even for high-fold acquisition, this azimuth/angle grouping can result in low-fold angle stacks. Therefore, data processing techniques that ensure proper primary amplitude preservation, noise attenuation, and data alignment, are of paramount importance. This paper focuses on the data conditioning processes applied to the seismic data before azimuthal orthotropic inversion is performed. The inversion results are used to characterize reservoir properties such as porosity, total organic carbon, fracture density and fracture orientation.
