Abstract
The contamination of the environment with toxic metals has become a worldwide problem, affecting crop soil biomass and fertility. In the last few decades many studies have proved that certain chemical pollutants toxic metals may remain in the environment for a long period and can eventually accumulate to levels that harm humans. Moreover, the numerous classes and types of these chemicals apart from the soil complicate the removal of many toxic metals from the environment. Uranium is a naturally occurring heavy found in the Earth's crust. It is an alpha-emitter radioactive element from the actinide group that radiotoxicant and chemotoxicant properties. Due to its presence in soil, rocks, surface and undergroud plants, and animals it occurs also in trace amounts in many foods and in drinking water. Its content found in ppm and varies from plant to another and from one part to another even within a single plant uranium munitions are used during combat because they are extremely effective. While using of depleted we have contaminated air, water, and soil. Consequently, children, women, and men have ingested, or got wounds contaminated with uranium. Depleted uranium dust will continue to be an extreme to civilians and the environment as a radiological contaminant to all living systems for 4.5 billion years. internal contamination effects from radioactive elements during military or mining operations are a to human populations. Exposure to depleted uranium seems to result in serious health problems in liver and brain. Ionising radiation increases the genomic instability in many cell generations after Consequently, an increased genomic instability enhances the frequencies of further mutation steps. uranyl ion UO2(+2) has enormous affinity for DNA phosphate; therefore, it can cause anomalous even at low concentrations causing genomic and genetic damage due to DNA-binding and sterility, malformation, and cancer.
