Abstract
This paper comparatively investigated the performance of D-fructose and D-galactose as environmentally reductants in presence of ammonia for fabricating reduced graphene oxide from graphene oxide. Firstly, graphene oxide was synthesized in the modified Hummer's method and then reduced by D-fructose and D-galactose, respectively. Reducing efficiency of the reductants was evaluated by UV-Vis, XRD and Raman analysis. The electrical conductivity of reduced graphene oxide was studied by a four-point probe system and cyclic voltammetry was investigated at an electrochemical work-station. Although both D-fructose and D-galactose reduced graphene oxide to generate reduced graphene oxide with good dispersion in water in presence of ammonia in a mild way. The electrical conductivity of D-fructose and D-galactose based graphene oxide were 502 S/m and 300 S/m, and the capacitance was 6.72 mF/cm(2) and 5.03 mF/cm(2) at 10 mV/s, respectively.
