Impact of therapeutic treatment with MCS-18 on advanced murine atherosclerosis

Aim: Atherosclerosis is characterized by leukocyte recruitment and adhesion to endothelium; both processes mediated by dendritic cells (DC). The herbal substance MCS-18 inhibits essential DC-functions and attenuates initiation of murine atherosclerosis. Our aim was to investigate MCS-18 in a therapeutic setting using a model of advanced atherosclerosis.
