Gadolinium Silicate Single Crystal Integrated Spectrometric Scintillation Assembly For Selective Detection Of Gamma-Radiation From Americium-241 And Alpha-Radiation From Transuranium Radionuclides
INSTRUMENTS AND EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUES(1996)
Abstract
An integrated spectrometric scintillation detection unit, based on gadolinium silicate single crystals, is described which is characterized by high selective sensitivity with respect to gamma-radiation from Americium-241. The device allows small amounts of this radionuclide to be distinguished against the gamma-emission background from other radionuclides.
