Predicting habitat suitability and geographic distribution of anchovy (Engraulis ringens) due to climate change in the coastal areas off Chile

•We developed an habitat suitability method to assess the impacts of climate change on pelagic fisheries.•We projected a moderate negative change in habitat suitability of anchovy by 2055.•Warmer and poorer chlorophyll waters will produce lower abundance of anchovy.
