摘要

•Operation phases are identical for both tokamaks. Density limit is found close to the Greenwald limit.•Detachment, as well as the X-point MARFE itself, does not trigger the H-L transition.•The density limit is not related to an inward radiation collapse.•Both machines show increase of the Greenwald fraction with decrease of the q95.•Goldston as well as Chankin models of density limit give good agreement with recent measurements.
