Abstract
Acute appendicitis in an incarcerated inguinal hernia is a rare event. The preoperative diagnosis is very difficult because it simulates the behavior of a strangulated inguinal hernia. The treatment depends on the severity of appendicitis. The appendicitis status influences the type of surgery and the type of access.
