Sensitivity to the near-surface is clearly heightened and refined when using data acquired during the transmitter ramp turn-off. If the near-surface is comprised of materials with similar resistivities, application of the system response analysis will not provide additional refinement. In addition, optimizing the inversion model layer structure for the earlier time gates can enhance near-surface refinement. However, note that the inversion model layer structure should be based on the expected geology.Presentation Date: Wednesday, October 17, 2018Start Time: 8:30:00 AMLocation: 204A (Anaheim Convention Center)Presentation Type: OralKeywords: airborne survey, groundwater, electromagnetics, modeling, near surfacePermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2018-2996391.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2018ISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2018 Pages: 5520 publication data© 2018 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration GeophysicistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 27 Aug 2018 CITATION INFORMATION Theodore H.
