AN ANALYSIS OF THE PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS OF 135 MDMA ABUSERS

Objective: To analyze the personality characteristics of MDMA abusers. Methods: The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) and self-designed Psychosocial Features Inventory were used. The objects were 135 cases of MDMA users who did detoxification in Ankang Hospital Detoxification Center from July 3, 2002 to April 14, 2003. The results were compared with the Chinese norm.Results: Compared with the Chinese norm, significant difference was found in clinical inventory of MMPI, except inventory D (depression) and Si (social introvert) in males and Mf (man feature) in females (P0.01, P0 001). Significant difference was also found in validity inventory L (lie) and F (feign) (P0 05, P0 001). The score T≥60 included hostile-sensitive inventory Pa 36 males and 25 females (53.74%; 36 77%), aggressive inventory Pd 33 males and 29 females (49 26%; 42 64%), impulsive-irritable inventory Ma 32 males and 28 females (47 77%; 41 18%), nervous-anxious inventory Pt 31 males and 16 females (46 27%; 23 53%), solitary-eccentric inventory Sc 46 males and 17 females (68 66%; 25 00%).Conclusion: MDMA abusers have the personality of multiplex deviation
