摘要
CHA No.1, a gametocide developed by the researchers of Central Laboratory of Southwest Agricultural University, was used to spray the leaves of cotton plants, and amino acid contents in them were measured. The contents of Pro, Asp, Glu, Phe, Lys, Val, Tyr, Thr, Ser, Gly, Arg and Ala were affected, to different extents, by the foliar spray, while those of Met, Ile, Lue and His were not influenced. Compared with CHA No.1, the two modified preparations (CHA No.1 supplemented with proline or with a mixture of proline and glutamic acid) restored Pro and Asp to the levels close to those in the control, but had no effect on the other amino acids. The modified preparations showed a gametocidal effect similar to that of CHA No.1, while their toxic effect on the cotton plants was greatly alleviated. Disorder in amino acid metabolism induced by the gametocide is presumed to be responsible for pollen abortion in the cotton plants.
