Studies on process of Drug-layering and Coating in Clarithromycin Pellets

OBJECTIVE To explore the process of drug-layering and coating in clarithromycin pellets,in order to improve the yield of clarithromycin pellets. METHODS Solution layering,powder layering,and agglomeration method were used to study the effects of different loading methods on yield and surface state of clarithromycin drug loaded pellets. And the effect of different weight of coating prescription on the yield was also discussed. RESULTS Using different methods on the drug,the yield of coated pellets was reduced when the weight of coating and the times of loading increased. The loaded pellets on the surface by the solution layering is superior to the pellets by other two methods. CONCLUSION To improve the yield of clarithromycin pellets,we should reduce loading times and reduce the weight of coating.
