Abstract
For confirming necessity of installing outgoing arrester to restrict gradient of lightning invasion wave,this paper analyzes an explosion accident of open contact of outgoing breaker in one 220 kV substation.Firstly based on lightning wave communication theory and according to field practice,it uses power system computer aided design to establish a breaker model to conduct transient analysis on the accident and then simulation estimation on protection effect of installing outgoing arrester.Finally,it draws a conclusion that it is able to greatly improve insulating level of the transmission line by installing outgoing arrester and avoid danger of suffering lightning invasion over voltage by the outgoing breaker in substation.
