Abstract
Potentiometric sensors for iodide ions were prepared by electropolymerization of the monomer nickel(II)-, , , -tetraaminophthalocyanine (NiTAPc) or other metaltetraaminophthalocyanine monomer on platinum wire electrodes. The selectivity of the electrodes towards iodide ions are caused by the protonation of the polymeric films with three dimensional cross-linking structure in acidic solution. Nernstain potentiometric response to iodide ions ranges from 2 ( 10 -6 to 1 ( 10 -1 mol/L. The detection limit is 8 ( 10 -7 mol/L. The electrodes show a slope of (56 ( 1) mV/p (20 oC). The response mechanism of the electrodes towards iodide ions was studied. The contents of iodine in real samples were determined with the proposed method.
