Study on treatment of chronic gastritis with CagA positive Helicobacter pylori infection by traditional Chinese medicine therapy

Objective: To study the effect of traditional Chinese medicine therapy in the treatment of chronic gastritis with CagA positive Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori)infected.Methods: 100 chronic gastritis patients with CagA positive H. pylori infected were divided into two groups at random.Group A(50 cases) received two-week treatment with (JianPi QingRe Decoction) 50ml Tid,Ranitidine 150mg Bid;Group B(50 cases) received two-week treatment with Motronidazole 400mg Bid,Amoxicillin 1000mg Bid,Ranitidine 150mg Bid.Four weeks after completing this treatment,all patients received 14 C urea breath test. Results: The symptoms in group A were relieved significantly than that of the group B(P0.05),but there was no difference in the H.pylori eradication rate(P0.05).Conclusions: The therapy consisting of (JianPi QingRe Decoction)and Ranitidine can reduce gastric symptoms significantly and also can eradicate H.pylori effectively.
