Abstract
Objective To study the significance of homocysteine( Hcy),nitric oxide( NO),nitric oxide synthase( NOS) and high sensitive C reactive protein( hs-CRP) in the mechanism of AECOPD patients. Methods The levels of plasma Hcy,NO,NOS,hs- CRP were determined in 54 patients with AECOPD and 60 healthy controls. Results The levels of tHcy and hs- CRP were significantly higher, and the levels of NO and NOS were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group( P 0. 01). Hcy was negatively correlated with NO and NOS( r =- 0. 57,- 0. 49),and positively correlated with hs-CRP( r = 0. 48)( P 0. 01). Conclusion There exists a low level of NO and a high level of Hcy in plasma of COPD patients, which take part in oxidative stress and inflammatory reaction in COPD and increase the development of COPD disease.
